We also learned that MVD would not be sending out renewal notices for the OHV sticker, like they do for registrations. It's your responsibility to renew the OHV sticker when it expires.
As some of you know, I broke my wrist last fall, so I've had to take a few months off from riding. Because I wasn't going to be riding, I saw no point in renewing my OHV sticker.
In anticipation of getting back on the trails this month, I renewed the sticker on-line and found that the expiration date had "reset". Instead of expiring in January of 2011, it now expires in March 2011.
The point of this message is- If for some reason you're not going to be out riding, you might think of putting off renewing your sticker when it expires, that way you won't be paying for something you're not using.
Also, wait until a new calendar month to renew your sticker. I renewed mine on-line March 1st and got the stiker in the mail March 3rd, and it's good until the end of March 2011, 13 months instead of 12.
Finally, don't confuse the OHV sticker with the registration. You'll pay a late fee if you let your registration expire. |
